The standard working week is 40 hours (or 8 hours per day).
Normal business hours for SSW are from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch (lunch should generally be taken between 1pm and 2pm).
Same for SSW contractors on approved days.
You must take your lunch break. It is not reasonable on you or our clients to work without a break.
If you are working on-site you may need to work in with the client's hours. E.g. they might work from 9am to 5:30pm. In this case, just take a 1/2 hour lunch.
You may occasionally be asked to work outside normal working hours to complete deadlines and perform other duties helpful for the role. This may be to attend user groups, training sessions, seminars, lectures or conferences outside normal business hours. Unless overtime is specifically approved it is unpaid.

We believe that the best software is built by bringing people together in person to solve the problems faced by our clients.
However, for most roles we enable SSW employees to work in a mix of environments that takes into account both productivity and wellbeing β including at home, and in our office. We have a flexible policy where our people feel empowered.
We have a 2-day work from home policy. This is only in Australia (See "WFH Conditions" below).
These are fixed days being:
Note #1: We dress our best on Wednesdays.
Note #2: In case you are sick π€§ follow the instructions for WFH as a one-off.
In French Office: Refer to your contract annexes Telework agreement and Working Time arrangement agreement.
In China Office: The WFH policy does not apply to SSW China. SSW China employees must work at one of the SSW Offices or client sites unless special approval.
To WFH you must:
Note: Client work is limited until you finish Part 5. You won't be allocated any client work in your first 2 weeks. After that, only 4 days a week can be booked out, so you still have time to dedicate to completing Parts 1-5.
Some considerations around when you WFH:
If you need to work from home on a day you usually work from the office, here is the process.
Schedule an additional in-office day (on top of the usual 3 office days) to make up the absence. It is recommended to schedule make-up days prior to any non-standard WFH days.
Send email - using Outlook | New Email | Content Chooser | All Staff Email Templates | Select work-hours-working-from-home-one-off
You may need to re-allocate urgent Employee responsibilities so they can be covered by someone else.
Note: We like to get together on Fridays... so avoid working from home on a Friday.
Punctuality is required for any professional position. Be aware that continual lateness will not be tolerated.
If you are running late:
Note: If you decide to take leave instead of making up the time, then create an appointment as per taking Annual Leave.
Sometimes you might need to leave early to do a quick task (like go to a doctorβs appointment). If you don't want to take Annual Leave, you can make it up that day (even if you want to do it from home). It is not preferred, but you can also make it up next day.
Everyone, at some point, takes a bit of work time to get some personal things done during work hours. This might be a phone call to Bupa or reading the daily Dilbert. It is our preference that all personal requirements should be completed during your lunch hour when possible. The ability to self-regulate and to understand what is reasonable ensures this never becomes a problem.
For employees that work part-time, ensure that non-working days are being logged in CRM as a booked out day.
To do so:
To confirm and view booked out days see the report.
Note: Create a "Repeating Series" according to your work schedule to fill in the future calendar automatically.
