Linking your Microsoft account to SSW is very important. Firstly it allows us to easily allocate you MSDN licenses and secondly it allows you to link your MCP ID (if you have one) to SSW. Furthermore, it allows the SysAdmin to grant you access to Azure DevOps.

Note: You must have a personal Microsoft account. If you do not have one, create a new account on Microsoft Account

Your MSDN subscription will provide the product keys needed in the next Induction item - "Install and Configure your PC (or laptop)"

  1. Go to Microsoft Learn and sign in with your personal Microsoft account.
  • If your account does not have a Microsoft Learn profile associated with it, you'll be prompted to create one.
  1. Go to Partner Center and sign in using your SSW Account.

  2. View your account: View Account Screen Figure: Select "Your Name | View Account"

  3. Select your profile: My Profile Screen Figure: Select "My Profile"

  4. Select your learning profile from the sidebar: image.png Figure: Select "My learning profile"

  5. Get Partner University Access (no Certification required):

  1. Associate your Microsoft Learning account: Figure: Select "Link Microsoft Learn profile"

  2. When prompted for a login, enter the details of your personal Microsoft account

  • The Microsoft Learn Account has to have at least one certification to be able to link your Microsoft Learn account
  1. If you have already registered your account, send an email to Adam using Outlook | New Email | Content Chooser | All Staff Single Use Email Templates | Select induction-part-2-prior-microsoft-learning-account

Check that your MSDN Subscription is activated

  1. Go to My Subscriptions and sign in using your SSW Account

  2. Ensure there is a Visual Studio Enterprise (MPN) subscription. If there is no such subscription, contact a SysAdmin for guidance.

  3. Ensure that your Alternate account correctly shows your personal Microsoft account. If it is not shown, add it.

  4. Log in to the Azure Portal, go to your new subscription | Overview and rename it - prefix it with your full name.

  1. Log into the Partner Center with your SSW account. Check the two areas are now showing your information instead of the buttons:

Send your Done

  1. Send the SysAdmins an email to inform them that you have successfully linked your Microsoft Learning account to SSW using Outlook | New Email | Content Chooser | All Staff Single Use Email Templates | Select induction-part-2-link-microsoft-learning-account-to-ssw

Completion

In order to complete this task, send a screenshot of your Learning profile showing that you’ve linked your Microsoft Learn and Partner University account to SSW.

If you can’t link your Learn account, add your reason (i.e. No certifications on my Microsoft Learning account) to the approval request.
